holy batman [part 3?]

Even more casting news for The Dark Knight Rises. This just keeps getting better and better...

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has reportedly joined the cast of the latest Batman installment, alongside his Inception costar Tom Hardy and director Chris Nolan (and Christian Bale as the caped crusader... obviously. He's long been forgotten).

I can't even begin to describe how perfect this is. The only thing that would top this would be Johnny Depp playing the Riddler, and even when those rumors were flying around, JGL was also being considered and I would have been completely happy with that. And now there's hope -- officially. Even though there's no confirmation on which role he'll be taking on, does it really matter at this point?

As excited as I was about Tom Hardy, aka the Breakout Star of 2010, being cast, I'm not at all ashamed to admit that this makes it sweeter. Seriously. You saw Inception. The Arthur-Eames dynamic is probably one of the stand-out elements; they stole the scene every time they were in frame, together and apart. That movie did wonders for both of their careers. JGL has been steadily working, mostly in the indie circuit, but it's great to see him getting the mainstream recognition he deserves. You should definitely check out Mysterious Skin, (500) Days of Summer, and The Lookout (among many, many others).

What do you think about Joseph Gordon-Levitt joining the cast?
