fashion friday: mr. ford.

This Fashion Friday is dedicated to the amazing Tom Ford, which is perfect as awards season is in full swing. Often times the leading men of Hollywood are overlooked on the red carpet, overshadowed by their female counter parts in elaborate couture. However, whenever I do take a glance at the men, the fashion winners are almost always decked out in Ford's designs. The mastermind himself also happens to be completely adorable. He's my designer crush (sorry, Marc Jacobs -- still love you and your skirts).

He's covering the latest issue of Interview magazine.

He's quoted as saying "I think gay men make better designers." I don't mean to generalize, but that's true more often than not. He still values the beauty of women, which he... umm... summed up in this statement that could potentially stir up a bit of controversy:
"I lust after beautiful women. First of all, I love women. But I lust after beautiful women in the way that I lust after a beautiful piece of sculpturethis will probably get me in troubleor a beautiful car. I believe everyone's on a sliding scale of sexuality. There are moments where I am sexually attracted to women. But it doesn't overpower my first impulse; my lust for them is the same as my lust for beauty in all things. It's not like I ever think, 'Oh, my god, I've got to spread her legs and fuck her.'"
He's candid, to say the least. Yet another reason why I love this man? His talents extend beyond fashion. He co-wrote and directed critic-favorite A Single Man.
