When we walked out of the theater, my roommate said it was a "light" movie -- not exactly the term I would use to describe it (my first thought: "WTF? Are you insane?" second thought: "Move. Immediately."), but once she explained that it was a movie that you didn't have to take too seriously or think about, despite glaring plot holes, I understood what she meant. I also have to note, that was our second time leaving the theater, as we attempted to see the movie around 7:00 but were surrounded by immature teens and had to leave. What else could you expect with nearly every CW teen drama and Twilight supporting star in the film? (Except for Leighton. You know I love her and she can do no wrong). But anyway...
After trying again after the theater's curfew (and a couple of margaritas) set in, we both enjoyed it. Maybe it was the fun of seeing it with each other, but it was an enjoyable movie. Predictable? Yes. Bad acting? Sometimes. But like she said, it was "light." There was enough suspense and curiosity to keep everyone intrigued. It ended up taking the top spot at the box office with $15.6 million, not too surprising for Super Bowl weekend, so congrats to Leighton!
I recommend it for a girls night -- why not invite your roommate, make it a little more fun? Overall Rating: C.
Did you see The Roommate? What do you think -- was Leighton's Rebecca just Blair Waldorf on crazy pills? Lol.
PS -- Don't touch my shit.
