she will be loved.

Thanks to the development of a little social networking/micro-blogging site that we like to call Twitter (you may have heard of it), I got to see Maroon 5 perform last night... for free!

A couple of weeks ago, they sent this little tweet out:
"Maroon 5 play Davidson, NC on August 24th... RT to win tickets!"
So, seeing as they're my favorite band ever (apart from *Nsync, but that's neither here nor there), I retweeted just once to throw my name in the ring, not at all expecting to win. What do you know? Ten minutes later, I have a direct message from them announcing that I was one of the winners and got two tickets to the show.

They put on an amazing show. I don't know what else I can say. They were all so soulful and into what they were singing/playing, and you could tell. I don't know if it was the intimate setting--we were in a college basketball arena, but it was pretty small--or just my love for them, but that was probably the best concert I've been to thus far. Our tickets were general admission on the floor right in front of the stage, and we ended up standing maybe one or two rows back and could see everything. VV Brown, an up and coming artist from England, opened up for them, followed by American Idol alum Kris Allen. VV Brown's voice is phenomenal, and she definitely gained at least two new fans last night! Here are just a few pics from the concert:

We walked away with tired feet and sore throats (oh, and the drumstick that Kris threw into the crowd!), but it was more than worth it.
