How exciting is this?!
Just in time for the release of Sex & the City 2, the author of the book that inspired the tv series is releasing The Carrie Diaries, a book that finally touches on the amazing Carrie Bradshaw's youth! If you know me, you know how much of a BFD this is! I had heard about this when the author first announced it, but I had NO idea it was coming out this month. I was on Amazon shopping around, and it popped up in my "recommended for you" section; I literally screamed--just like Charlotte when she reads Carrie's wedding announcement :) The official Amazon description:
"Before Sex and the City, Carrie Bradshaw was a small-town girl who knew she wanted more. She's ready for real life to start, but first she must navigate her senior year of high school. Up until now, Carrie and her friends have been inseparable. Then Sebastian Kydd comes into the picture, and a friend's betrayal makes her question everything [...] With an unforgettable cast of characters, The Carrie Diaries is the story of how a regular girl learns to think for herself and evolves into a sharp, insightful writer. Readers will learn about her family background, how she found her writing voice, and the indelible impression her early friendships and relationships left on her. Through adventures both audacious and poignant, we'll see what brings Carrie to her beloved New York City, where her new life begins."The entire 6 seasons of the show and the first movie never gave us this background. All we know about Carrie is that her father left when she was younger, she lost her virginity in "three thrusts... finito" on a pool table, and her high school boyfriend eventually ends up in a mental institution. Uh... that's about it, lol. (Yes, I recalled those facts from memory). I read the original book and loved it, and I'm sure this will be no different. Preordering my copy ASAP! It comes out right around the time finals start, but studying will just have to wait :)
P.S. Who has seen the latest trailer for SATC2?! Makes it look so much better than the first trailer did. As much as I love Big, YAYYY AIDAN!! :)
