It starts off by saying that if Carrie were writing today, she'd more than likely have a blog rather than a column. I'm not gonna lie, I said it in my first post... I think the image of me sitting at my computer like Ms. Bradshaw (or Mrs. Preston?) is what prompted me to finally start blogging! Ironically, I started after a binge on the series dvds. Yes, I own the entire collection. Don't judge me.
Anyhoo, I thought the article was both funny and inventive. It took quotes about monogamy to introduce the idea that we want to build a (lasting) connection with our readers, as well as building traffic ("the only thing you need to get a date... is another date"... how true is this?!) regarding sustained readership and following. It also linked to a similar article about headlines and to which personality types they most appeal to; it used the fabulous foursome, Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte--all representative of the 4 main personality types--to show which types of headlines are more likely to grab their attention. See, research and analysis can be fun! (Um... what?)
