TOMORROW!
When I say I've been waiting for a movie, it is NOTHING compared to how excited I am for this.
This is probably the reason I was so looking forward to 2010 [well, this and graduation... and of course, Eclipse!]. I said in an earlier post that Leo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp were my favorite actors, but I have to say that Johnny takes the cake. I'm convinced that this man can do anything, play anyone. Seriously. Just look at his IMDB page and notice the range of characters. He's at his best when he works with Tim Burton. This will be their 7th film together, and all the others have a place in my list of favorite movies [I couldn't say top 10 because I have wayyy more than 10. I say that I own all my favorite movies, but my dvd collection is at 300+, so you can see how this is problematic]. They've also done Sweeney Todd, Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood, and the amazingly classic Edward Scissorhands. And I'm not ashamed to say that I own them all. In fact, I think Johnny is the only actor who's entire collection I own [except for James Dean, but I mean, he only made 3... and I have most of Leo's].
Not only he is one of the most beautiful human beings to walk the planet [People mag got it right naming him Sexiest Man Alive all those times], but he's risky and doesn't care what anyone thinks when he chooses his movie roles. He doesn't care about playing the heartthrob, and he's more than willing to cover up those good looks. They say actors bring their characters to life, but I don't think that description has enough power to convey what Johnny does.
In honor of Alice, Moviefone put together a mashup of the random "language" of his characters. Quite entertaining.
So, to conclude my slightly obsessive rambling/ode to Johnny: Alice. Will. Be. Epic.
