the brand bowl.

I'm a few days late, but I just started the blog, so forgive me :)

As an advertising major, Sunday night's Super Bowl was obviously a very important night.  Surveys have concluded that nearly half the people that watch the game are only watching for the commercials, and companies shell out close to $3 million just to have 30 seconds of time because they know that they have a captive audience! I figured I'd share my favorites from this year with you:

Betty White is amazing. She's over 80, but still has the greatest sense of humor. I want to see her host SNL!

Perfect for the target and it showcased his sense of humor about a real-life subject. Is he ever going to retire?

New take on an old past-time, plus I loved the surprise appearances at the end :)

Simple, but straight to the point. Plays on emotions surprisingly well, especially given the target. It stood out from the "masculinity-themed" ads this year.

As for disappointments, I wasn't too impressed with any of the beer commercials this year. And the Coke/Simpsons ad... what was that?! And a bit of trivia for you: Megan Fox used a hand-double in her Motorola ad because of her short thumbs [she has clubbed thumbs because of a hereditary condition] and what's so funny is that people pay that much attention to celebrities. It was ALL over the internet. HILARIOUS!
